Jalapeno Popper Wonton Cups – delicious little bites of cream cheese, cheddar, sour cream, and bacon baked in crispy wonton wrapper cups. The perfect party appetizer and game day snack!

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the wonton cups:

  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • 4 tablespoons (57g) butter, melted

Filling Ingredients:

  • 8oz (227g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (113g) sour cream
  • 4oz can (or 1-2 fresh) jalapenos diced, or to taste
  • 3 tablespoons green onions, sliced
  • 1/2 cup (57g) cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup (57g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup (28g) crumbled bacon, about 3-4 slices
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For topping:

  • 1/2 cup (57g) cheddar cheese, shredded

To garnish:

  • Crumbled bacon (1/4 cup (28g) crumbled bacon, about 3-4 slices)
  • sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°
  2. Brush the wonton wrappers on both sides with melted butter. Press into muffin pans. Bake until slightly golden, about 6-8 minutes.
  3. Mix the filling ingredients and spoon evenly into the baked wonton cups. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  4. Bake until the cheese is melted and the wonton cups are golden brown, about 12 minutes. Garnish with crumbled bacon and sliced green onion.
  5. Remove from muffin pan and serve.

Notes

To make in advance:  bake the wonton cups until golden. Let cool and store in an airtight container. Mix the filling ingredients and store in the refrigerator. Fill the wonton cups shortly before baking for the crispiest cups.

To reheat: place the wonton cups on a baking sheet and heat in a 300° F oven until warmed through. You can also reheat them in the microwave, but they won’t be as crispy.
