1 ripe banana sliced ¾ cup milk ½ cup water 1 tablespoon sugar, maple syrup, or honey (to taste) optional ⅛ teaspoon vanilla optional
Use ripe, spotted bananas for the sweetest flavor.
The combination of milk and water gives a silky texture.
For a banana smoothie with a thicker texture, replace the water with more milk and add a few ice cubes.
Make sure the milk and water are cold. Banana milk tastes best when cold. If you want it even colder, serve it over ice.
Using frozen bananas will keep the drink colder, however it may thicken it somewhat.
Use a high-speed blender for a smooth, creamy texture.
Serve immediately – It will start to separate, and the bananas will begin to oxidize and brown quickly so make it just before you plan to drink it.
