Description

Homemade Strawberry Milk is bursting with the flavor of fresh, sweet strawberries. This easy, 3-ingredient recipe is perfect for one or two servings and so much better than store bought.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Blender method:

  • 4oz strawberries, sliced (3/4 cup)
  • 1 cup of milk
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons sugar (or other sweetener), or to taste

Syrup method:

  • 4oz strawberries, sliced (3/4 cup)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 cup of milk

Instructions

Blender method:

  1. Combine strawberries, milk, and sweetener (if using) in a blender and blend until smooth.

Syrup method

  1. In a saucepan, combine the strawberries, sugar, and water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then turn the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes. The berries will soften and lose their bright color and the liquid will be deep red.
  2. Strain the strawberries out of the simple syrup through a fine mesh strainer, being careful not to press down on the berries or the syrup will be cloudy.
  3. Chill until cold
  4. Stir the chilled strawberry syrup into a glass of cold milk

Notes

*Recipe can easily be multiplied for more servings

*Big batch of Strawberry syrup for about 8 servings:  Make this homemade Strawberry Syrup. It can stay in the fridge for up to 3 weeks and makes about 2 cups of syrup. Use about 2-4 tablespoons of syrup for 1 cup of milk or to taste.

*Nutrition value is calculated using skim milk and no optional sugar
