These DIY Oven Dried Raspberries are perfect for baking, granola, trail-mixes, and cereals. Grind them up into raspberry powder to use when you want real raspberry flavor and color but not the liquid - think raspberry frosting! But the best reason to make these DIY Oven Dried Raspberries is my White Chocolate Raspberry Cookies!
Making Oven Dried Raspberries is easy enough to do and a great way to use up any extra raspberries you have on hand.
Just wash them and let them dry. Then put them on a parchment covered baking sheet and into the lowest setting your oven can go. Mine can go as low as 150 degrees F. The berries here have been dried for 6 hours.
I took them out when they were still somewhat pliable and soft for my White Chocolate Raspberry Cookies. You can leave them in longer to get more dried out, they will get a little darker.Â

I am hoping to dehydrate raspberries to use in a recipe but it seems that my fancy oven ‘s lowest temperature is 170F. Is that too hot or will I be able to do this in a shorter amount of time. I am trying to find a conversion of dehydrated raspberries to freeze dried raspberries as they are not a problem to purchase but I am unable to find this. Looking forward to your response and hoping you have an answer
Kelly
Hello Happy Baker, 170 degrees should be ok. It may take less time and keep an eye on them so they don't brown. If you find it's too hot, you can occasionally turn the oven off for a while then turn it back on again.

I've made these a few times now and they are so good! They are by far the family favorite, so I'm making 4 batches for Thanksgiving. Well worth the time to dry your own raspberries. Thank you for sharing your recipe!

So happy you liked them, Jen! Thanks so much!

How long can they be stored for?
Kelly
Hi Cath, I store them only for a few weeks, after that they lose their color.

I want to use powdered dried fruit for flavor and color in French Macarons. Will this method dry the fruit enough to be finely powdered for the shells? Buying it already powdered is quite expensive, especially for blueberries!
Kelly
Hi Lori, Yes, just dry the berries until they are very dry, then they can be powdered. Try to dry them on the lowest temperature possible. I've been using the dehydrator function on my InstantPot and it works great for making them very dry without darkening.

How do you store these when done? Thank you!
Kelly
Hi Dana! I dry them out thoroughly and store them at room temperature in a tightly closed container, like a ziplock bag or a food storage container.
