Chocolate Raspberry Yogurt Parfait filled with layers of crunchy chocolate granola, creamy yogurt, and a fresh, sweet-tart raspberry sauce. Perfect for breakfast or dessert.
This Chocolate Raspberry Yogurt Parfait has become something of an obsession of mine. I know, obsession seems like an exaggeration. But considering that I’ve been eating these for breakfast, afternoon snack, and dessert (and sometimes bedtime snack) …..
They’re very addictive.
The components for this Chocolate Raspberry Yogurt Parfait are easy to prepare and easy to keep on hand for whenever the craving strikes. Or when you want breakfast. Whichever comes first.
It all starts with the chocolatiest Double Chocolate Granola. Sweet, crunchy, and super chocolatey. It’s baked with a chocolatey coating. Then chocolate chips are sprinkled on top of the warm granola. You can either let the chips cool and they will keep their shape, while being fused to the granola. Or you can stir the melted chips into the granola and all of the clusters will be covered with chocolate. A sprinkling of raw sugar after everything has cooled gives added crunch.
And what could be better with sweet, crunchy chocolate than a tart, intensely raspberry, Raspberry Sauce. My Raspberry Sauce that Practically Makes Itself was developed specifically with this parfait in mind. It’s perfectly syrupy with pieces of raspberries and a pure, fresh raspberry flavor. And as its name implies, it practically makes itself. It’s made with frozen raspberries that are macerated in sugar. There’s no stove-top cooking involved so the berries retain their fresh flavor.
There are several choices for the yogurt to use in this parfait: plain, Greek, or vanilla. I like mine made with plain yogurt. I like the light and fluid texture of plain yogurt. I also like its tangy flavor. The amount of sugar I use in the Raspberry Sauce is perfect (for me) with unsweetened yogurt. Of course, adjust the amount of sugar to your own taste. If you use a sweetened vanilla yogurt, you may want to put less sugar in the Raspberry Sauce.

Ah! I see that you had bigger plans for that granola and raspberry sauce. This parfait looks amazing! Have you ever met a person, you say, "Let's get some parfait," they say, "Hell no, I don't like no parfait."? Parfaits are delicious! You definitely did this one justice...that flavor combo is totally calling my name right now! 🙂
Kelly
Haha! David, I have never met that person! Especially when they get a look at how pretty they are! I love the different layers of flavors and textures. So much fun to eat! Thanks so much!

Parfaits were THE dessert when I was a kid, then basically disappeared, but lately have been making a comeback. Good thing -- they're so good. And SO pretty! Very nice -- thanks.
Kelly
They well deserve their position of being THE dessert, John! They're so easy to put together with endless possibilities of flavor and texture. I love the contrast between all the layers. They're relatively healthy as far as desserts go. And you're right, - they're so pretty! Thanks so much!

Haha! Yes, I guess I do that! Sometimes I start with an ingredient I love and go crazy making all sorts of dishes with it. Sometimes I start with the final dish, and work backwards developing the ingredients for it. Thanks so much, Valentina!
Neil
I'm not surprised these are very addictive. They look and sound absolutely amazing! I never thought about making granola all chocolatey just by sprinkling some chocolate chips on top of warm granola. I'll need to try that when I'm making my next batch. Thanks for sharing this beautiful recipe!
Kelly
A happy accident that I discovered in a too hot kitchen. I tried letting the granola cool and chocolate chips harden when my Dubai kitchen was about 100 degrees F. Since the melting point of chocolate is 86-90 degrees F, that was never going to happen. It turned out delicious though and that's how I've made it ever since, even when the kitchen is cooler. Thanks so much, Neil!
